Code of Conduct

Old Ironside has one rule, be on teamspeak while playing World of Warships. However, this website has a few more.

General

Be respectful and intelligent.

Don't spam, solicit or promote.

Don't sell beer/alcohol. It's illegal and you will be banned.

Be Respectful

Don't troll (flame, bait, mock, deceive, slander, etc.), harass or attack others. It's unacceptable.

Profanity isn't against the rules. We're all adults, however, it should never be directed as an insult towards others, used in excess or in a vulgar manner.

Post with mutual respect. There's a difference between disagreeing and disrespecting. Debate the topic, not the person.

Be Intelligent When Posting and Replying

If posting an event, it needs to be in the calendar first. Once submitted, you may post in the appropriate forum, however, you must include a link to the calendar entry. Your post will be considered spam if otherwise.

Don't feed the trolls. Use the Report link and let our moderation team handle it.

Multiple accounts (pseudonyms, usernames, sockpuppets) aren't allowed. Their only purpose is deception. If a user is found to have multiple accounts actions may be taken to block access to the site.

Use the "Report" link to alert mods of infractions or threads that need updating (title change, wrong forum, duplicate topic, etc), not simply because you disagree.

Don't abuse the reporting system.

Don't reply to a thread with "Reported" (even in jest) or alert the offender that they've been reported.

Reminder: Don't feed the fucking trolls.

Warnings are issued by moderators, and almost always as a result of user reported content. Points are associated with each warning and will stack when multiple warnings are received. Stacking may result in further actions taken against the account.

There are two types of bans that can be applied to accounts:
Temporary bans (tempban) are automatically applied by the warning system and will eventually expire as points expire. Banned users will see the tempban end date when attempting to visit the site.

Permanent bans (permabans) are manually applied based on the severity of the account's actions or past warning history.


Note that these guidelines are not exhaustive, and may not address all types of offensive behavior. As such, our moderators shall have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate. Your access to the website is a "privilege," not a "right." We reserve the right to suspend your access to the website at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by these guidelines. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis, and the action we take may be more lenient or more severe as a result.

Our code of conduct may be changed at any time without notice.

Bottom line: We want Old Ironside to be an awesome experience for everyone.

Be truthful with yourself. Do not rumor monger or mislead others,
as you will destroy your own image and the Clans image within the community.
Loyalty - Support your clan and all its members. By working together we are all stronger.
Humility - Be gracious in defeat and humble in victory. There is nothing worse than a
sore loser or an arrogant victor.
